The North Carolina Joint Underwriting Association (FAIR Plan) and the North Carolina Insurance Underwriting Association (Coastal Property Insurance Pool), are ready to assist you.
You can report your loss in one of following ways:
When Windstorm or Hail coverage is issued by the North Carolina Insurance Underwriting Association (Coastal Property Insurance Pool), the licensed insurer that issued the essential property insurance is required by North Carolina General Statute 58-45-35(e) to adjust Named Storm losses that are covered under the Windstorm or Hail policy.
Your efforts in handling these claims efficiently and effectively are crucial for insureds who have suffered a loss. We will partner with you in getting your policyholders restored as quickly as possible.
We have communicated to Producers that claims from Named Storm events written on Windstorm or Hail policies will be handled by the Member Insurer and that the Producer should confirm workflow with each Member Insurer.
General Reminders:
If a Producer or Policyholder submits a Windstorm or Hail only claim directly to the Association, the Association will forward a First Notice of Loss to the Member Insurer.
If a Producer or Policyholder submits a Windstorm or Hail claim directly to the Member Insurer, the Member Insurer or Producer must also report the claim to the Association through the Portal.
An Open Claim Report is available through the Member Insurer login on our Portal. This report shows losses reported to the Association and assigned to the Member Insurer for claims handling. This report is updated daily.
If you receive a loss for handling but you are not the Member Insurer that issued the essential property coverage, please contact the Association’s claims department immediately.
Member Insurers are only responsible for handling claims that are a result of a Named Storm event. If you receive a wind or hail loss that is not associated with a named storm event, please report the loss to the Association using our Portal. If you are unable to report the loss through Portal, you may fax or email it using the contact information below.
